Report on economic development in western China unveiled
TheAnnual Report on Economic Development in Western Region of Chinaand the China Western Development Forum were launched on April 19 at Northwest University in Xi’an, Shaanxi province.
Over 50 experts and scholars from universities and research institutions gathered to delve into strategies for fostering a new era of large-scale protection, openness, and high-quality development in the region.
The report offers a comprehensive overview of the 25-year evolution of the Western Development Strategy, highlighting key accomplishments and addressing current challenges. Emphasizing quality, efficiency, and empowerment, it outlines targeted initiatives and pathways to shape a fresh development paradigm in the western region, serving as a vital reference for regional progress.
Published annually since 2005 by the Key Research Base for Humanities and Social Sciences of the Ministry of Education, this report has been a cornerstone of research for two decades. Drawing on expertise nationwide, it sheds light on long-standing development issues in western China, attracting attention at home and abroad. It provides robust theoretical backing and practical insights to advance large-scale protection, openness, and high-quality development in the region, marking a significant milestone in western development research in the contemporary era.
